‘Hello ... life’ is a social program that provides home services for the integration of children with disabilities in remote areas of the country.
This program was first implemented in Albania in 2017 after World Vision published its findings from a national study on the prevalence of disability.
The study showed that there are 70.000 children with disabilities living in Albania. Only 8% of them had access to basic services. Economic hardship, distance from therapy centres, lack of transportation or mental awareness are just some of many factors why children could not access the specialized services they needed.
In these circumstances, the programme “Hello...life” began by sending teams of specialists to visit the children in their homes and to provide them with the relevant therapy for their diagnosis. The children are then supported step by step based on their specific individual development plans.
“Hello...life” today supports with individually designed therapies 72 children with disabilities, and their families, in the villages of Librazhd, Prrenjas, Dibra e Bulqiza.
The mobile unit of “Hello...life” provides material assistance and psycho-social support for the family of each child with disabilities and provides consultations for members of the community where the child lives.
